Why the Avenue Works Better With a Chauffeur
Atlantic Avenue is the best-designed nightlife street in Palm Beach County and the worst place in it to leave a car. Parking within a reasonable walk on a Friday is a matter of luck; on a Saturday in season it is close to impossible, and the garages fill before the restaurants do. Because the strip is walkable, you do not need a vehicle shuttling you between venues — you need one that drops the group at one end and is waiting when the night ends. Airports From Delray Beach
Palm Beach International is usually 20 to 30 minutes north and is the calmer of the two nearby options — small enough to walk end to end, and easy to be collected from. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is 25 to 40 minutes south with a considerably broader schedule, which makes it worth the extra time whenever the fare or the route is better. Miami International is 45 minutes to an hour, and worth it only when the airline or the destination requires it.
