In practice you are crossing a drawbridge, and a bridge opening for a passing vessel does not care about your dinner reservation. There are three crossings and they land in genuinely different places — the Flagler Memorial at the north end of the business district, the Royal Park in the middle, and the Southern Boulevard bridge further down. Choosing the right one for your destination saves more time than any decision made on the mainland, and choosing it while watching whether one is already open saves more again. This is unglamorous local knowledge, and it is the main thing an island booking is buying.
Worth Avenue, the Resorts, and the Clubs
The second thing that decides an island trip is the drop-off. Worth Avenue and the streets around it are not built for a vehicle to sit and wait, and the resorts and private clubs each have their own arrival procedure — where to enter, where to pull up, and where a chauffeur waits without being asked to move on. Airport Transfers to and from the Island
Palm Beach International is typically 15 to 25 minutes from the island, which makes it one of the shortest transfers we run and one of the least forgiving. On a short drive there is no slack to absorb a bridge opening or a late start, so we set the pickup against your actual flight and put the chauffeur at the address early. Fort Lauderdale is around 45 to 60 minutes and Miami about 65 to 85, both worth booking when the route requires the airline rather than the airport. For arrivals we meet you inside the terminal with a name board and handle the bags — PBI is small enough that this is genuinely faster than a curbside meeting.
Events, Galas, and Season
The island's calendar is concentrated between roughly November and April, and during those months everything about the drive changes: more traffic on the bridges, more vehicles arriving at the same venues within the same fifteen minutes, and valet queues that turn a short trip into a long one.
