When FLL Is the Right Airport
From Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach International are roughly the same drive — 25 to 35 minutes each. That makes FLL the better choice most of the time, simply because it flies more places more often and usually for less. The calculation changes as you move north. From Delray Beach the two are still close. From West Palm Beach, Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens, PBI wins on time by a wide margin and FLL only justifies itself when the fare or the schedule is dramatically better. From Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale itself, FLL is simply the answer. If you are unsure, tell dispatch where you are staying and where you are flying. We will say which airport we would actually use, including when that means talking you out of the longer drive.
