Why a Short Transfer Needs More Care, Not Less
It sounds backwards, but the fifteen-minute PBI runs are the ones we plan most tightly. On a fifty-minute drive to Miami, a ten-minute problem gets absorbed somewhere. On a fifteen-minute drive there is nothing to absorb it with — the margin has to be built into the pickup time instead. So for the short northern runs we set the collection against the real flight time rather than a round number, and the chauffeur is at the address early rather than exactly on time. It is a small discipline that is the difference between a calm departure and a sprint through a terminal you did not need to sprint through.
