When Miami Is Worth the Drive
From Boca Raton, MIA is 45 to 60 minutes without traffic and meaningfully more with it. From the northern county it is well over an hour. Those are real numbers, and they mean Miami should be a deliberate choice rather than a default. It is the right choice when the route only exists there — much of the long-haul and Latin American network, and a good deal of the international schedule generally. It is the wrong choice when a comparable flight leaves from Fort Lauderdale, because you are trading an hour of your day each way for a marginal fare difference. Tell dispatch where you are staying and what you are flying and we will give you a straight answer, including when that answer is 'use FLL instead'.
